Anti-Trump Rallies Saturday

On Saturday, November 4, a number of anti-Trump (and Pence) rallies are scheduled to take place in various American cities. Caleb Parke reported on the FOX News website tonight:

A series of anti-government, leftist rallies set to descend on major cities nationwide Saturday is drawing the attention of local officials, who, like the organizers themselves, fear the events could be hijacked by violent masked anarchists.

The left-wing “Refuse Fascism” group is using Nov. 4 as its kickoff for demonstrations in nearly two dozen U.S. cities, protests it says will continue “day after day and night after night- not stopping- until our DEMAND is met.”

The “DEMAND” is the removal of President Trump and Vice President Pence…

(Editor’s note: Bold added for emphasis)

Parke added that the 20 cities where rallies are set to take place include Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.

According to the Refuse Fascism website, here are the details for the Chicago event:

Chicago, November 4
1:00 pm
Federal Plaza, 219 S. Dearborn

Federal Plaza. My old stomping ground.

Anyway, just be advised should you have plans in these particular cities tomorrow.

For readers going into areas where rallies are scheduled to take place and who have concerns about the gatherings turning into riots, you might want to consider the following advice from Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy of Survival Medicine Handbook-fame (now in it’s 3rd edition):

Must-Watch Speech: Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke On Responsibly-Armed Americans

Heading north past the state line, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr., is in the headlines again. Sheriff Clarke’s name may ring a bell with regular readers of Survival And Prosperity due to a memorable Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office PSA he recorded around the beginning of 2013. I blogged back on January 27, 2013

North of “Madiganistan,” there’s a new ad being aired on the radio:

I’m Sheriff David Clarke and I want to talk to you about something personal- your safety. It’s no longer a spectator sport- I need you in the game. But are you ready? With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You could beg for mercy from a violent criminal. Hide under a bed. Or you can fight back. But are you prepared? Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We’re partners now. Can I count on you?

This safety message brought to you by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

At a recent United States Concealed Carry Association Open House Event held in West Bend, Wisconsin, Sheriff Clarke spoke of that PSA and subsequent ones, including the support and disdain he received from them. Clarke told the USCCA open house audience:

I got tired of seeing the Second Amendment becoming the bastard child of the Bill of Rights. As far as I’m concerned, the Second Amendment is as important as the First Amendment, it’s as important as the Fourth Amendment against unreasonable searches and seizures, it’s as important as the Fifth Amendment right to counsel, it’s as fundamental as the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment, and on and on and on.

And but for the Second Amendment, the other ones are not possible.

Because what leads to despots in our history- you first disarm people, you gain control of the media.

That gives rise to despots. And that’s the importance of an armed citizenry…

It’s a terrific speech about responsibly-armed Americans, which you can watch in its entirety (less than 15 minutes) below…

Make Mine Freedom

When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred, or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom, and destroy our very lives.

Gerald Celente Warns ‘The Worst Is Yet To Come’

Gerald Celente, the founder and director of The Trends Research Institute, has been forecasting trends since 1980 and is known for his uncanny ability of being correct a lot. The New York Post once said of him, “If Nostradamus were alive today, he’d have a hard time keeping up with Gerald Celente.” The well-known trends forecaster was recently interviewed by GoldSilver Radio’s Leigh Greenberg (GoldSilver Radio is operated by our advertising partner, GoldSilver.com), and Celente predicted some disturbing events ahead for the United States, including the following:

The problems are unsolvable. You can’t bring down debt by piling more debt upon us. So we believe that an economic 9/11 with some type of economic martial law are going to go hand-in-hand. They may call a bank holiday.

Great interview. Celente doesn’t hold back… as usual:

A Message For Those Who Can’t

Have you ever wondered how some people have gotten as far as they have in life?

The world is populated by “those who can”- and “those who can’t.” “Those who can” are not only able but willing to tackle whatever life throws at them head-on. Failure for this group is merely a hurdle in their quest to succeed at whatever it is they’re doing, and blame-throwing isn’t an option for these individuals.

“Those who can’t” require others (“those who can,” go figure) to carry them through life (by the way, in this post I’m referring to individuals who consciously choose this approach, not the mentally/physically-impaired- God bless them). “Fix it!” is their battle cry. Regrettably, their numbers seem to have grown through the years. I guess it was only inevitable, as comfortable times during the closing years of the American Century only perpetuated this terribly-misguided mentality. Economy got you down? No worry- Washington will fix it for you (at least, that’s the impression they wanted to give). Depressed about the value of your stocks? Don’t fret, the Fed will cut interest rates and subvert the economic cycle for you. Happy now?

Washington only made matters worse in the last decade, sending the wrong message with bailouts, modifications, and neglect in holding certain parties responsible for the problems the nation now faces.

But for the “those who can’t” crowd, the message couldn’t have been any clearer. Not only was their counterproductive mentality seemingly-condoned by those in power, but a Nanny State was possible in their minds, and it was their job to elect those supporting Big Government to bring about such change.

Hope and change, that is.

While some politicians latched onto the idea of a Nanny State because of some impossible utopian dream, others pushed Big Government to perpetuate their political careers:

Sell the idea of the Nanny State to “those who can’t,” and it’s state dinners, lear jets, and none of that crappy ObamaCare for you!

Or so both parties thought. Going forward, I have some bad news for the “those who can’t” crowd- they’re toast. The numbers don’t lie- the nation’s financial health is in really bad shape. Astronomical national debt, unsustainable deficits, deteriorating infrastructure, entitlement bills coming due, local governments going broke, the list goes on. Seriously, does anyone actually believe we’ll ever be able to come up with the funds to pay for all this stuff? We’ve managed to kick the can down the road this far. But when you take into account an economic “recovery” that’s on artificial life support (trillions of stimulus dollars) and a Federal Reserve that’s running out of bullets, you might understand why I believe a financial crash will take place. As I’ve mentioned before- this is not the end of the world or anything like that. Economic crashes have occurred throughout history. However, I anticipate things will get a whole lot worse before they get better, and in such a scenario, the “those who can’t” crowd won’t do very well.

Yet, history has shown some well-spoken strongman, not unlike a Hitler or Mussolini, could take advantage of terrible socioeconomic conditions to run for political office on the promise of stability and the establishment of a Nanny State. The “those who can’t” crowd may actually see their wish come true- while losing their freedom in the process.

Obviously, they stand to lose either way.

My advice to “those who can’t” is this- be someone who can. Before it’s too late. For you and god forbid any of your loved ones who are forced to depend on you.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now?

I can’t stop thinking about that Cavuto segment from yesterday. While Cavuto noted investors head for safety (i.e., the U.S. dollar) whenever the SHTF on the global scene, just how long will that scenario continue considering the terrible shape our nation’s finances are in? And if it’s the U.S. that’s flung against the fan blades, you can bet your bottom dollar (which is the direction the currency will be heading) that investors around the world will be avoiding, and dumping, American assets.

Speaking of avoidance, here’s another question that’s been on my mind. If one suspects a financial tsunami is headed their way, should they ride out the storm in their home country, or should they depart for friendlier shores where the odds might be better for protecting self and wealth? The following are two opposing views on the subject.

Dmitry Orlov is a Russo-American engineer who was born in Leningrad and moved to the United States when he was 12. Orlov was an eyewitness to the Soviet collapse over several extended visits to his native land between the late eighties and mid-nineties. Willing to share his first-hand accounts of what a financial crash looks like up close, in 2008 he wrote Reinventing Collapse: The Soviet Example and American Prospects. Orlov also runs the blog ClubOrlov. Last week a guest post appeared on his weblog that advised American readers to leave the United States. Orlov noted:

Guest post by Anonymous. I was planning to write something a bit like this, but found that someone has done some of my work for me… Apparently, to stay in the US is to stay in denial; perhaps that is what it takes to make the continuous psychological trauma of living in this country bearable. The one encouraging sign is that this condition is curable: not a single expat has voiced anything but complete and enthusiastic agreement with this article.

Here are some excerpts that “Kollapsnik” wrote in “America- The Grim Truth:”

Americans, I have some bad news for you:

You have the worst quality of life in the developed world—by a wide margin.

If you had any idea of how people really lived in Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many parts of Asia, you’d be rioting in the streets calling for a better life. In fact, the average Australian or Singaporean taxi driver has a much better standard of living than the typical American white-collar worker.

I know this because I am an American, and I escaped from the prison you call home.

I have lived all around the world, in wealthy countries and poor ones, and there is only one country I would never consider living in again: The United States of America. The mere thought of it fills me with dread.

After listing a number of perceived faults with the United States, the guest poster argued:

There are only two possible futures facing the United States, and neither one is pretty. The best case is a slow but orderly decline – essentially a continuation of what’s been happening for the last two decades. Wages will drop, unemployment will rise, Medicare and Social Security benefits will be slashed, the currency will decline in value, and the disparity of wealth will spiral out of control until the United States starts to resemble Mexico or the Philippines – tiny islands of wealth surrounded by great poverty (the country is already halfway there).

Equally likely is a sudden collapse, perhaps brought about by a rapid flight from the US dollar by creditor nations like China, Japan, Korea and the OPEC nations. A related possibility would be a default by the United States government on its vast debt. One look at the financial balance sheet of the US government should convince you how likely this is: governmental spending is skyrocketing and tax receipts are plummeting – something has to give. If either of these scenarios plays out, the resulting depression will make the present recession look like a walk in the park.

Whether the collapse is gradual or gut-wrenchingly sudden, the results will be chaos, civil strife and fascism…

“Kollapsnik” recommends:

So what should you do?

You should leave the United States of America.

On the other hand, last week I mentioned that I follow a couple of blogs on a regular basis. Surviving In Argentina is one of those and is authored by an Argentine named Fernando “FerFAL” Aguirre who, like Orlov, has first-hand experience of what a financial collapse looks like. In his blog, Aguirre (who has lived in the U.S.) talks about how he and his young family survived the economic crisis in Argentina and how they’re coping now. It’s a rich source of information for surviving tough times, so much so FerFAL went ahead and wrote The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse in 2009. Aguirre thinks that a global financial crisis is fast-approaching, but unlike Orlov and “Kollapsnik,” he believes that the United States is a good place to weather the storm. Last week he gave this advice to an American reader thinking about leaving the country:

In America you can wake up every morning not worrying about a noise you’re not used to being someone trying to break into your house. You can walk or drive to the closest dinner without watching over your back every 10 seconds. You have the right to carry a firearm for self defense and if you ever use your gun in such a way, some filthy judge wont be asking you for some exorbitant bribe or even worse, throwing you in jail.

You have stores of every type, whatever hobby you have, you’ll find everything you need. That simply doesn’t happen in other countries. You like books? Even a small US city has huge book stores like nothing you’ll ever find in Latin America. You want to drive a car you like? You wont have to pay 5 times the price you pay for it in USA like you do in most 3rd world countries. Big brother is all over the world and in most other countries you don’t even have the right to privacy you have in USA. It just doesn’t compute in people’s head that a government sticking its nose into your business isn’t right. Big brother is accepted in the 3rd world with opened arms, it always has. Don’t think you’re getting free of that by moving elsewhere.

I understand downsizing, maybe moving to a cheaper state, but leaving USA? Not really, not unless some mayor event forces you out of it and what’s happening now occurs all over the world to a greater or lesser degree. All in all, USA is a good place to be in during this storm.

So does one stay or go? There’s no easy answer to this question. Much more on this subject in a later post.
