Post Number 3,000

I’m back after a break for the holidays.

And I return to find we’ve reached post number 3,000.

3,000. Wow. That’s twice as many posts as were published within the blog’s predecessor- Boom2Bust.com, “The Most Hated Blog on Wall Street,” which ran from Memorial Day weekend 2007 into 2010.

On November 22, 2010, I launched Survival And Prosperity with the following:

Welcome to my new weblog, Survival And Prosperity, “Protecting and Growing Self and Wealth in These Uncertain Times.” My name is Christopher Hill, and I’m the creator and Editor of this blog. Survival And Prosperity focuses on financial and personal safety in these tumultuous times we find ourselves living in…

Six years on and in even more “uncertain times,” the focus of the project remains unchanged:

“Financial and personal safety in these tumultuous times”

I elaborated on the “About” page one day before the blog’s roll-out:

Survival And Prosperity is unlike other financial blogs in that SP focuses simultaneously on finance and personal safety, two areas Christopher Hill has spent a lot of time researching these past couple of years and which are intertwined in any serious discussion about surviving and prospering in tumultuous times. Case in point, an individual might pursue a strategy of wealth preservation and growth that would pay off handsomely in a financial crash. Yet, if personal safety was ignored in the process, that same individual might end up a victim of the social turmoil that is sure to accompany the economic collapse. So much for that new-found wealth, right?

It is my hope that many of the over half-a-million unique visitors to Survival And Prosperity since its creation have taken something useful away from the “serious discussion.”

And as economic and societal uncertainty spills over into the new year- and foreseeable future- I will keep this project moving forward.

Thank you for joining me on the “ride.”

Follow-Up: Requesting Reader Help

Last week, I asked Survival And Prosperity readers on Facebook to please consider voting for a young girl I know personally- Hayley- who has a rare disease (“Childhood Alzheimer’s”) and who entered a contest to win an adaptive bicycle.

I just wanted to let you know that Hayley won the bike.

Needless the say, Hayley and her family are excited… and grateful. A huge thanks goes out to readers who took time out of their busy schedules to vote for her.

The 2016 Great Bike Giveaway was held by the Friendship Circle of Michigan, “a non-profit organization that provides programs and support to the families of individuals with special needs.”

Thank you again,

Requesting Reader Help

Dear Readers,

For those of you who are on Facebook, I ask that you please consider voting via that social media platform for a young girl I know personally who has a rare disease (“Childhood Alzheimer’s”) and who has entered a contest to win an adaptive bike. I first met Hayley some years ago at a party my girlfriend’s sister was hosting. Being the super-social type I am, I spent a portion of the time watching TV in the front room when this little girl plopped down on the couch next to me. Guessing she probably wanted to watch some kids TV shows, I brought up the guide and asked her which one she’d like to watch. As she was unable to decide, I’d pull up a cartoon, she’d tell me about the show, who the characters are, why it was “good” or not… then on to the next channel. This continued for some time until we eventually settled on Dora the Explorer, I believe. This funny, sweet kid has grown up to be a terrific young lady, well-deserving of a bike she can finally ride. With less than 2 days left in the contest and with Hayley currently in 6th place in the voting in her category (have to finish 1st to win the bike outright), I know she and her family would be grateful for any assistance you could provide. Like I said, just one quick vote via Facebook is all it takes. Voting link (under “Ways to Help #2”) and more information about Hayley and her condition below:

Thank you!

No More Blogging This Week

Regrettably, I’ve come down with the flu. As I’ve pretty much been bed-ridden since Monday, there will be no more blog posts this week. New material will appear on Survival And Prosperity next week.

Stay healthy,

I’m Back

Sorry for the lack of new material on Survival And Prosperity lately, but a number of other matters required my attention since before the holidays and right on through that period. That being said, to quote Arnold Schwarzenegger:

YouTube Video

And not a moment too soon it seems, judging by growing uncertainty surrounding the financial markets/system.

In conjunction with working hard to finally launch my carefully-crafted research business in 2016 (unless someone throws an obscene amount of money my way to mine that specialized asset protection knowledge I’ve acquired), I’ve been spending a lot of time developing my Offshore Safe Deposit Boxes blog and Offshore Private Vaults website lately.

I’ve published quite a few posts on that blog recently that may interest readers of Survival And Prosperity. “Related Reading: Banks Will Raid Safe Deposit Boxes” and “Government, Bank Wealth Confiscation Activity List Updated” come to mind here.

Going forward with this 5-year-old-plus weblog:

• New material will still be published only from Monday thru Friday (holidays excluded, and unless there’s something I think readers should know right away)
• Each day will still begin with an “SP Intel Report” (if it’s warranted), where I’ll be focusing on current events locally (Chicagoland area), nationwide, and overseas which I think readers should be aware of
• Those different series of posts I’ve run since late November 2010 will be returning on a regular basis once I get back into the swing of things. This includes:

Monday- Quote For the Week
Tuesday- Signs Of The Time
Wednesday- Project Prepper
Thursday- In Print (or On TV when I don’t have a book review ready yet)
Friday- Resource Of The Week

• Mondays will also feature the latest investment activities/recommendations of the “crash prophets”- Marc Faber, Jeremy Grantham, Jim Rogers, and Peter Schiff. If anything newsworthy concerning the “prophets” emerges during the work week, I might not choose to wait until Monday to blog about it.
• Other material related to the focus of this blog- economics, finance, investing, personal/public safety, emergency preparedness- will still be published throughout the week as well.

That’s it for now. I apologize once again for the longer-than-expected hiatus (did readers at least enjoy those Quotes For The Week?). As much as I’d like to see America on the path to an authentic economic recovery, I suspect the “times” may become even more “uncertain” in 2016- if not downright gnarly. Rest assured Survival And Prosperity will be along for the ride, still focusing on matters related to “protecting and growing self and wealth.”
