Peter Schiff: ‘The Day Of Reckoning Is Getting Closer And Closer’

Economist, financial broker/dealer, and author Peter Schiff appeared on the Alex Jones Show last Friday. Schiff, who correctly-called last decade’s housing crash and recent global economic crisis, warned viewers of rising inflation, a U.S. dollar collapse, and civil unrest. The CEO of Euro Pacific Capital said:

Most people know there’s inflation. They don’t believe the government numbers or they don’t even know about the government numbers. All they know is that the cost of living is going up. Food is more expensive. Their utility bills are higher. Rent is going up. Health insurance premiums are going up. But Alex, we ain’t seen nothing yet. When it comes to inflation- this is just the beginning. The price increases that Americans have been enduring are only going to get much, much worse… But nobody is going to welcome a higher cost of living, and your best defense against that, as I said, is to protect yourself. To get out of your dollars. To diversify internationally

More and more people- mainstreaming people- I’m hearing people talk who now realize that this is the 9th inning of this thing, this whole experiment with Keynesianism and fiat money. It is very, very late in the game. Time is running out, right? The clock has been ticking and ticking. It is going to stop, and you can see that. The day of reckoning is getting closer and closer

The real drop is not just going to be in the pound, but in all the world’s fiat currencies. In particular, the U.S. dollar, which is at the center of this whole Frankenstein’s monster when it comes to a monetary system. And it is going to implode. And this dollar crisis is going to make the financial crisis of 2008 look like a Sunday school picnic, especially in the way it impacts people’s standards of living…

There is going to be, I think, rioting and looting. Especially when we have a currency collapse. Because I think then you’re going to have shortages. I think the government is going to impose price controls. And I think there is going to be a problem for people to get goods and services that are in short supply…

Peter Schiff: Obama, Federal Reserve, Government Have Failed As ‘This Economy Is A Disaster’

Economist, financial broker/dealer, and author Peter Schiff appeared on the Alex Jones Show last Friday. Schiff, who correctly-called last decade’s housing crash and recent global economic crisis, discussed a number of subjects with Jones, including Puerto’s Rico’s recent default/economic crisis and “modest” U.S. inflation numbers. The “crash prophet” said of the U.S. territory:

It’s never a problem until it is. So Puerto Rico is broke, but now it’s a problem because the creditors figured out that they’re broke. Well America is more broke than Puerto Rico. That’s a fact. It’s just that our creditors haven’t figured it out yet. But when they do, then Donald Trump is going to end up being right, because all we can do is default. And if we don’t default, if we print money- which now Trump is saying, “Oh, we don’t have to default because we can print.” Well printing is worse than default, because printing doesn’t just wipe out the bondholders, it wipes out anybody who hold U.S. dollars.

When asked by Alex Jones where all the inflation is being hidden, the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital pointed out:

It’s actually hiding in plain sight because, because first of all, the inflation is all the money printing. That’s the definition. The consequence of inflation is that prices go up. But look, stock prices went way up. Real estate prices went back up. Rare art went back up. Collectible cars went back up. I mean, asset prices have gone up like crazy- that is inflation. And, of course, anybody who lives in America knows that the prices are going up. Look, rents are up about 8 percent year-over-year. Look how much health care costs have gone up. Utilities are going up. Look at the price of food. Have you bought a steak recently at a supermarket? Prices are going up. It’s just that the government is not doing an accurate job of reporting, and that is by design…. The standard of living is going down. Americans are working two or three jobs a piece. And they can barely make ends meet. You know, this economy is a disaster. And everyone wants to pretend that it’s great, because no one wants to admit that Obama is a complete failure, that the Federal Reserve was a complete failure, that everything that government has done has failed.

Peter Schiff: 2008 A ‘Tremor,’ ‘Real Earthquake Is Still In Our Future’

The CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, Peter Schiff, appeared on the Alex Jones Show last Friday. Schiff, who correctly-called last decade’s housing crash and recent global economic crisis, talked about the state of the U.S. economy- and how the 2008 crisis was just a “tremor” before the real earthquake. From their exchange:

JONES: So you think that we may already actually be in a recession.
SCHIFF: All of the indicators, if you look at most of the economic indicators that are out there, they’re flashing recession. I mean, the only thing that isn’t is the low unemployment rate and the jobs that we’re creating. But then when you look beneath the surface, and we’ve discussed this before on your program, when you realize that all the jobs that are being created are low-paying, part-time jobs. The reason there are so many jobs is because people now have two or three. And so if you have three jobs that you count as having- it’s three instead of just one. But they don’t add up to one good, full-time job. And you have lots of people who have left the labor force. And I think one of the reasons the unemployment claims are so low is because so few people are being hired, that not that many people are being fired. You can’t lose a job unless you get a job. And so since we’re really creating so few legitimate jobs, there’s not a lot of people that are collecting unemployment. So this economy is very weak, despite the rosy scenario, the fiction, that the President is trying to paint.

And from later on in the program:

JONES: Speaking of earthquakes, you’re famous for quoting, I mean famous for this quote, “2008 was a tremor for the earthquake that’s coming.” Is that what you’re still saying?
SCHIFF: Yeah and I’ve been saying that all along even before 2008. Because I saw 2008 coming, and unfortunately I also saw how the government would respond to 2008. And they did exactly what I feared they would do, what I warned they would do, and that is exactly why the real earthquake is still in our future- it’s not in our past. And people have to prepare for that. And by the way, silver hit a new high today for this year, for 2016. So people are starting to wake up. It’s happening very slowly, but it’s happening.

Peter Schiff: ‘The Dollar Is Going To Tank, And With It Is Going To Go The Standard Of Living Of America’

Peter Schiff, the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, appeared on the Alex Jones Show last Friday along with financial newsletter writer Harry S. Dent. Schiff, who correctly-called last decade’s housing crash and recent global economic crisis, was asked by host Alex Jones about the state of the economy and what is going to be “the next shoe to drop.” Schiff replied:

I think the state of the economy is a disaster… But even if Harry is right, and the price of gold goes down, the price of real estate is going down more. The price of stocks is going down more. The price of everything else is going to go down more. So if you have your money in gold, and the price of gold falls, you’re still going to be richer than most everybody else on the planet… But if I’m right, and the dollar tanks, and you follow Harry’s advice, you’re broke, you’ve got nothing.

When asked about the state of the U.S. dollar. Schiff warned:

This is a gigantic bubble. We have conned the world into supplying us with merchandise in exchange for money that we create out of nothing with no real value. We’ve been able to borrow all this money. We have no ability to ever repay it. In fact, if interest rates go up we can’t even service the debt, let alone retire it. It’s all going to be inflated away. And the dollar is going to tank, and with it is going to go the standard of living of America, because we’ve basically decimated our industrial production. That is the problem. We’re living on credit, on printed money, and this is coming to an end. You need to be in gold and other assets.

Robert Kiyosaki: 2002 Prediction Of Huge Stock Market Crash Next Year ‘Holding Course’

“‘Rich Dad’s Prophecy’- [Robert Kiyosaki’s] most recent book- predicts that the market will crash around 2016 when the oldest Baby Boomers start cashing out their 401(k) plans. Individuals whose savings are locked into 401(k) plans will suffer because these retirement plans, aren’t flexible and don’t do well in a bear market…”

-CNN.com, October 30, 2002

How many readers out there know who Robert Kiyosaki is? The American entrepreneur, educator, and investor was quite popular back in the early 2000s. I first encountered him while watching public television around that time, sharing financial and investment strategies taught to him by his rich “Dad” and found in his 2000 New York Times best-selling book Rich Dad Poor Dad. Kiyosaki went on to write a number of books, including Rich Dad’s Prophecy in 2002.

Last Tuesday, Robert Kiyosaki appeared on the Alex Jones Show. Kiyosaki talked about his new book, Second Chance, and other subjects, including a certain prediction made about the U.S. stock market next year. From their exchange:

JONES: The world is just crazy at this point. Give us your prognosis for the planet. There’s obviously opportunities for those of us that are studying it. I mean, I going to do better probably than ever as things get worse. But I’m not happy about that, because I know it’s hurting the average person.
KIYOSAKI: Amen. Alex, I would say exactly the same thing. It doesn’t make me happy that I’m getting richer and richer, and I see my friends getting poorer and poorer. I’m very concerned right now about my generation- the Baby Boom generation, the biggest generation in history. And they bought that program of put all your money in a 401(k) and invest for the long term. Now, I wrote a book called Rich Dad’s Prophecy back in 2002. That was 13 years ago. And I said the biggest stock market crash in the history of the world was coming in 2016. I was kind of guessing. But unfortunately, I didn’t write it to be right. I wrote it out of concern. If I’m correct that in 2002 what I said the biggest market crash was coming in 2016, that means millions and millions of Baby Boomers, their kids, their grandkids, will feel the effect of that when their retirement savings are wiped out. I hope I’m wrong. But so far, my numbers look accurate and it’s holding course right now. So I don’t write because I want to be rich or poke fun or want to be righteous. I am rather concerned about my fellow citizens.

“But so far, my numbers look accurate and it’s holding course right now.”

Disturbing. Kiyosaki added later on in the interview:

I’m just concerned about this possible- I hope it doesn’t happen- but if my “rich Dad” was correct, again, published in 2002 Rich Dad’s Prophecy predicted the biggest crash in the history of the world was coming in 2016. And that’s why I wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad, that’s why I speak, that’s why I write, that’s why I take on the media. But I’m very concerned for my [fellow] citizens. Look, Alex, what happens? Let’s say I’m right- hopefully I’m not. And millions of Baby Boomers lose their pensions, their homes, their jobs- they lose everything. What is the ripple effect throughout the world going to mean to that? We’ve never been here before. Never before has the U.S. dollar, one currency, been the reserve currency of the world- and we’re printing it. The Europeans are printing, Japanese are printing. And you’ve got to look at this and go, “This is not good.” So that’s my concern right now.

“Great Economic Collapse & Currency Meltdown Is Coming
Says Financier Robert Kiyosaki”
YouTube Video

So how is Robert Kiyosaki going to fend off the crisis he still sees coming? While taking phone calls from listeners, Kiyosaki revealed:

I like silver personally. I love gold. I have a lot of gold and silver.

Further insight was provided right before the holidays, when Eve Fisher of The Sydney Morning Herald reported:

“The world is in very serious trouble and the next 20 years will not be like the past two decades,” says Kiyosaki, who predicted the downfall of Lehman Brothers investment bank in 2008 and the ensuing GFC.

“I foresee a global currency crash, like the one that ruined Germany in the 1920s, which will wipe out the poor and the middle class – as the rich get richer.

“People will see that money and shares are not real wealth, just paper, and the way to survive is by acquiring assets – like property, resources, gold and other precious metals.”

Farmers will benefit as land and food become highly valued commodities, he says…

Infowars: DOD, Army Warn Of May 2 Terror Threat On 2nd Anniversary Of Bin Laden Death

“Thursday, May 2, is a day to be especially watchful. Jihadists are particularly fond of celebrating anniversaries and on that day in 2011 Seal Team Six found and killed Osama bin Laden. September 11. 2001 is now an indelible part of U.S. history and on September 11, 2012, jihadists attacked and killed an American ambassador and three others.”

-Alan Caruba, RenewAmerica.com, May 1, 2013

Did you know that tomorrow, May 2, 2013, is the second anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death?

To be honest, it totally slipped my mind. Until I happened to stumble across the following on Alex Jones’ Infowars website. Paul Joseph Watson wrote earlier today:

The Department of Defense and the US Army are warning of a possible terror threat to coincide with the second anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden, according to a memo sent to Infowars by a source based at Fort Hood.

The entire memo is posted on the Infowars site.

I haven’t heard/seen anything else about a potential terrorist attack tomorrow, although it wouldn’t be too shocking if Al-Qaeda, their affiliates, or someone/some people motivated by their cause attempt to carry out something on the second anniversary of bin Laden’s death.

Watch your six. As always.

You can head over to the Infowars site here to read what Jones and Watson have supposedly unearthed. Mind you, the memo is “unclassified/for official use only.”

Resource Of The Week: Alex Jones, Joel Skousen Strategic Relocation Movie

Earlier this week in one of my “Project Prepper” posts I blogged about “a nice resource I came across recently while verifying the ‘Badger State’ is the place to be for me.” Uploaded onto the AlexJonesChannel on YouTube.com back on November 8, 2012:

Joel Skousen sits down with Alex Jones and discusses strategies on how to prepare for and survive major disasters. Joel Skousen is a world renowned expert in designing secure homes, geo-political analysis, and strategic relocation. Preparing food, water, arms, medical supplies, and shelter may not be a good enough plan. Large population centers are the biggest threat to survival after any major disaster. Joel Skousen explains his strategy for survival, which includes acquiring all of the essentials, preparing in a safe location and methods on how to avoid a dangerous hungry population and safely arrive at your secure location.
